Auto Express: Seven ways to stay green

"1) Clean your car more efficiently

Eco warriors hate to see water wasted – and if you wash your car regularly, thousands of litres end up going down the drain every year.

There are alternatives, though, such as OneDryWash. This no-rinse formula is simply sprayed on to the bodywork, spread around and then wiped off with a clean cloth – not a drop of water is required!"

Onedrywash is the New Name for International Leading Brand of Waterless Carwash Product

.
One product, one process, Onedrywash – is the new name for the waterless carwash product (formerly known as Miracle Drywash)

Crawley, West Sussex – SJK Products Ltd officially announced today the new name it has chosen for its leading waterless carwash product, formerly known as Miracle Drywash. The rebranded product is now called “Onedrywash”.

New label design for Onedrywash for cars

There were several reasons for the name change; Tim Jones, company chairman explains: “Why ‘Onedrywash’? Well, it’s the number one waterless carwash product, now used throughout Autoglass’s 400 UK outlets and by Gate Aviation on its cars and buses in an increasing number of UK airports. Onedrywash also has an expanding network of international distributors in places as far afield as Scandinavia, Dubai and Australia as well as a vast and ever-expanding network of resellers throughout the UK.”

A bottle of the new-look Onedrywash – no water required

A major benefit of the product that, until now, was not reflected in its name was the fact that, in one go, you can clean and polish your car at the same time with no need to wet it before you start, nor rinse after cleaning (both very wasteful of water), nor wax afterwards. “We’ve come up with a new by-line that says it all,” adds Jones, “One product, one process, Onedrywash and no water required.”

About Onedrywash
Onedrywash, manufactured by SJK Products Ltd in Crawley, West Sussex, UK, is a totally waterless washing system – a revolutionary way to both clean and polish your car, caravan, boat, motorbike, or any other metal, glass, or painted surface - with only a single application of the product. It both prevents pollutants and detergents from entering the river system and each bottle (7 washes) saves 1 ton of water, so it’s good news for the environment. The product was endorsed by South East Water in 2006 and was awarded the prestigious Waterwise Marque in 2007 for its contribution towards saving water in the UK. It is available from Amazon and Autoglass who also use it to valet their clients’ vehicles. The company, SJK Products, was co-founded in 2004 by SJ Khebbal, CEO and Tim Jones, Chairman. http://www.onedrywash.com

Gate Aviation’s Plan to Wash All Vehicles Group-wide Without Water Made Possible with Miracle Drywash

The Apcoa car park coaches at Gatwick Airport are now being cleaned with waterless vehicle-cleaning product, Miracle Drywash, and other airports within the group are soon to follow Gatwick’s lead by abolishing the use of water in the cleaning of their vehicles to help protect the environment

Gate Aviation now cleans Gatwick Airport car park Apcoa
coaches exclusively with Miracle Drywash, using no water

Crawley, West Sussex –Gate Aviation, a leading aircraft services company and part of gategroup, is to use the waterless carwash product, Miracle Drywash, to clean vehicles at a number of airports in the UK.  It has been cleaning airside vehicles at Gatwick without water for over a year already, and is now cleaning Gatwick’s car park coaches in the same way, with vehicles at Stansted, Luton and Liverpool airports soon to follow.

Not a drop of water has been used to clean Gatwick’s 140-strong fleet of airside vehicles for the past 18 months, thanks to Miracle Drywash. Apcoa car park buses take passengers from Gatwick’s car parks to and from the airport, and Miracle Drywash is already being used by Gate Aviation to clean 13 of these buses a week. In June 2009, this figure will increase to 23 a week.

“We want to be at the forefront of innovative and environmentally friendly ideas and we are always looking at ways we can reduce our environmental footprint” says John Rickards, General Manager, Gate Aviation Gatwick.

“Miracle Drywash is both environmentally friendly and effective and we are very happy with its results. We’ve just started cleaning Gatwick’s car park coaches with it, and we will progress soon to Stansted, Luton and Liverpool airports.”

SJ Khebbal, CEO of SJK Products, manufacturers of Miracle Drywash comments: “When a company as large as Gate Aviation recognises the degree to which the traditional ‘bucket and sponge’ car washing method pollutes the environment – it is a powerful hint to other companies to do the same. The use of Miracle Drywash over the past 18 months alone has saved countless tons of water and prevented untold pollution of the environment surrounding Gatwick Airport. We are very happy that Gate Aviation has decided to increase their use of Miracle Drywash; their contribution to the environment will be immense.”
