Last weekend at Brands Hatch, Justine Armitage and her bevy of beauties set about washing cars during the A1 GP Race Meeting, using Onedrywash.

Justine runs the recently formed high-profile promotions agency, Smile Corporation Ltd based in Esher, Surrey. Why is it high profile? Justine was recently made redundant so she decided to set up her own business, and her story caught the attention of the media.

Her girls, who wore special black jumpsuits with chequered design, washed the racing drivers' cars in the paddock - Porsche's, Lotus's, Ferrari's and Aston Martin's of course - as well as the public's cars in the public carpark, and the event was covered by the photographer Andrew Dobell. Andrew has conveniently put some of the photos he took on his blog.

The fact that Onedrywash is waterless made the business of washing cars so much easier for the girls. It meant no hosepipes, no heavy buckets, no sponges and no getting soaked or dirty, and of course - great news for the environment - no detergents so no water pollution.

Smile Corporation Ltd is also the latest Onedrywash retailer to come on board.

The Dairy Crest milkman delivers Miracle Drywash to your door again

It was just over a year ago that Dairy Crest's home delivery service included Miracle Drywash as one of the items you could get your milkman to deliver, along with gold top, silver top, orange juice and yoghurt. Well, it was realised by the powers that be how successful that short trial actually was - now the idea has been resurrected.

DON'T ADD WATER

When something ‘Eco’ drops on my desk, a morbid curiosity forces me to try it. Mostly so I can smugly sit back and say ‘told you it wouldn’t work’. So, as sure as Amy Winehouses rehab clinic knows she’ll be back, ‘Miracle Dry Wash’, the ‘Eco Car Wash’, was delivered. I immediately set about proving it wouldn’t work.

SJK products, who make ‘Miracle Dry Wash’, know their facts when it comes to getting motors shinier than Bree Van De Camps silverware. They know it takes about 170 litres of water to wash a car, and that every wash your sending harmful suds into our rivers.

So what does it do? It’s a chemical carwash is the easiest way of describing it. The whole kit and caboodle comes in a recycled box no bigger than a mobile phone box. The kit contains a 500ml bottle of ‘Miracle Dry Wash’, two cloths and a pair of gloves. Using it is simple, put gloves on, shake bottle, spray car with fine mist from bottle, one cloth to rub it on, other to polish off. According to the box, it will remove all dirt and grime leaving your car shiny clean, it’ll also make rain bead off and even after a heavy shower should remain spot free. Hmmm…

Out to the drive I go, gloved up bottle in hand, waiting there for me is a muddy Freelander recently used off-road. Twenty minutes later and I was stood looking at a very shiny 4x4, cleaner (I believe) than if I’d taken it to the car wash, and much quicker than if I’d hand washed and polished it. On this occasion I’m forced to admit that not only does it work, it’s jaw-droppingly good. I absolutely love it, so much that Top Gayer will be using it for our entire car washing needs from now on. Autoglass charity carwash raises £500

£500 raised for Keech Cottage children's hospice, 31 cars cleaned and 4.65 tons of water saved!

Last Friday (5 Sept 2008), at their Cardington, Bedfordshire head office, Autoglass held a charity carwash in aid of Keech Cottage, the children's hospice. Keech Cottage is the company's chosen charity and this was one of many fund-raising events in the Autoglass calendar.

It was a charity carwash with a difference, however, because not a drop of water was used to wash the approx 30 cars. Instead, they used Miracle Drywash! In October, it was announced by press release that Miracle Drywash - the revolutionary way to wash and polish vehicles - was being used by Fernley Gatwick Ltd to clean cars airside initially at Gatwick airport, then at the airports of Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Manchester, Dublin, Cork, Liverpool and Nice in France, Brussels in Belgium and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

BBC South East Today considered this big news both as a business story (local firm wins big international order) and a good news environmental story as millions of tons of water will now be saved, and thousands of litres of detergents will no longer be entering the river system via storm drains.

Airside at Gatwick, the BBC filmed interviews with John Rickard, General Manager of Fernley and with SJ Khebbal, CEO of Miracle Drywash. They also showed the product being used by a Fernley employee. Miracle Drywash – used by X2P, producers of the TV motoring show “Pulling Power”

The event was being filmed by X2 Productions who happen to also produce the TV motoring show called ‘Pulling Power’. The cameraman saw a demonstration of the product and was impressed with what it could do and how clean AND polished it made the car. So he took a sample of the product to try it out.

The verdict: the product is ideal for a film crew on location because they often need to clean their cars but have no access to a hosepipe. And when they do find water, the process of washing their cars with it is a messy business and they can’t do it in direct sunlight either.

They loved Miracle Drywash and hope to do a report on it in a future programme!
